The total population of the University for undergraduate and post graduate students, academic and non-academic staff as at July 2016 was 18,284.

The University of Agriculture, Makurdi was founded in January 1988 and its bodies are the University Council and the Senate. The University of Agriculture, Makurdi is situated on 8,000 hectares. It is located on the Makurdi – Lafia road in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State, in North-Central Nigeria, about 300 Kilometers to the southeast of Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital.

The Campus is located north of the River Benue, near the township of Makurdi North. As at July 2016, the combined population of students and staff was 17,  864.

The Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun was founded in 2007. Its governing bodies are the Council and the Senate. In January 2006, the Federal Government approved the takeoff of the college of petroleum and gas engineering of the University of Benin at Effurun, near Warri in Delta Sate. It was later upgraded to a full-fledged university in the year 2007.

The University is located at Ugbomro, Uvwie Local Government Area, along warri-Port Harcourt Road, before Agbarho Bridge. The University Campus covers 163,151 hectares of land. The campus is not as swampy as the other parts of Warri areas. As at July 2016, the population of the University for undergraduate and staff totalled 4,000

FEDERAL UNIVERSITY NDUFU – ALIKE, IKWO, EBONYI STATE

Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo is a modern University established in 2011 and is located in the serene agricultural environment of Ikwo in Ebonyi State, South East Geopolitical zone of Nigeria. Fondly called FUNAI, the University prides itself as the home of soaring eagles, after its totem bird, the eagle, whose soaring image is prominent on the University logo. In 2011 the University initially took over the facilities of Government girls college Ndufu – Alike. After the take over, the University acquired additional land space to create the permanent site in its present form.

The main campus of The Federal University, Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (FUNAI) is situated on 435.72 hectares and is located along the major road to Ikwo. The University began operations with only a takeoff site but soon expanded to a permanent site. The permanent site is an extension of the takeoff site with the two campuses within the same location being powered by the Energizing Education Programme.

The University administrative staff are currently operating from the permanent site and the female students are currently living in the hostels situated at the permanent site. As at July 2016, the combined population of both students and staff on campus was 3,590

The Nnamdi Azikiwe University was founded in 1992 and t’s governing bodies are the University Council and the Senate. The University took over the former Anambra State University of Technology (ASUTECH), and ollowing the split of the former Anambra State into Anambra and Enugu States in 1991, the former Awka and Nnewi campuses of ASUTECH became Nnamdi Azikiwe University. The Awka campus is being powered by the Energizing Education Programme.

The University was taken over by the Federal Government as the first non-residential University in the country with effect from September 1, 1992. The main campus of Nnamdi Azikiwe University is situated on 502 hectares, with coordinates 6°14’40.4″N 7°07’16.9″E, and is located along the Enugu to Onitsha express way. It lies within Awka, the capital of Anambra State.

Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) is a Federal Government owned and operated University. The University was founded in 1961 and classes commenced in October 1962 as the University of Ife. It was renamed Obafemi Awolowo University on 12 May 1987 in honor of Chief Obafemi Awolowo, first premier of the Western Region of Nigeria. OAU Occupies 2,020 hectares (5000 acres) of land in an urban town called Ile-ife, Osun State, Nigeria. As at October 2016, the population of the University for undergraduate, postgraduate and members of staff was 37,345.

The Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex is one of the first generation of Teaching hospitals established by the Federal Government in 1967, when the defunct Western State Government of Nigeria resolved to establish a medical School in its State university at Ile-Ife.

The university and its teaching hospital are being powered by the Energizing Education Programme.

The University of Lagos – popularly known as UNILAG – is a Federal Government research university in Lagos State, southwestern Nigeria. The Eric Ashby Commission on Post School Certificate and Higher Education was established by the Nigerian Government in May 1959.

Following the acceptance of the UNESCO Commission’s report, the University of Lagos was established on 22 October 1962 on the authority of the University of Lagos Act of 1962.

University of Lagos is located in the mainland of Lagos. It is largely surrounded by the scenic view of the Lagos lagoon on 802 acres of land in Akoka, North Eastern part of Yaba, Lagos. As at July 2016, the population of the University undergraduates, postgraduates and members of staff was 59,371.

Usmanu Danfodiyo University was founded in September 1975. The University currently has a Solar Installation that powers the UDUNET and the main campus library with a combined capacity of 15kW, 10kW powering the UDUNET and 5kW powering the Library.

TECHNICAL    

– Preliminary and detailed design drawings are undergoing reviews while over 90% have been approved.

– Civil construction has been completed in all Solar sites while civil works have commenced at the gas sites.

– Fencing works have been completed across all the 9 project sites.

– Equipment foundation works have reached completion in 8 out of 9 sites

– FATs on major equipment have been conducted for all the project sites.

– Access and Internal Roads and Site Drainages have been completed at most of the Solar sites, while same is ongoing for some other sites.

– All major equipment has been installed at all the Solar sites, while major equipment for the Gas sites have been purchased and ready for shipment/delivery to the project sites, however this will be carried out upon the required payment that is due to the contractors for these sites.

– Installation of Streetlights have commenced across all sites and have been completed across 5 project sites.

– The FUNAI and BUK project sites were commissioned on 2nd August and 3rd September 2019 respectively, while ATBU and FUPRE are the next project sites to be commissioned.

– Workshop/training Center for FUAM, NAU and UDUS are in progress, while UNILAG and OAU are at various stages of construction. The WTC materials for the Gas sites are however on site and construction of the WTC will commence as soon as practicable, considering the COVID-19 situation.

– In addition to the commissioned sites, PV Panel installation has also been completed across all the solar sites.

– Pre-commissioning Tests have been completed at FUPRE, ATBU and FUAM

FINANCIAL
   

– All project sites have received complete mobilization payment from the Sovereign Green Bond Fund and FGN.

– Except for UNILAG which is yet to receive 3rd payment, all other project sites have received full 2nd and 3rd payment from the Sovereign Green Bond Fund & FGN.

– In addition, ATBU and OAU sites have received up to 4th payment, FUAM has received up to 6th payment, while FUNAI and BUK have received complete payment.

– Invoices for further payments have been received for some sites, however this has not been paid due to unavailability of funds.

– Funding from Development partners and donor organizations, in order to fund the EEP Phase I Project Management Team.
