ENERGIZING EDUCATION – FEMALE STEM STUDENTS INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME
RURAL ELECTRIFICATION AGENCY’S GENDER MAINSTREAMING INITIATIVE
The Energizing Education Programme (EEP), an initiative of the Federal Government of Nigeria under implementation by the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), has launched its Female STEM Students Internship Programme with 180 female students across nine federal universities in Nigeria. Promoting gender mainstreaming in the energy sector is central to REA’s mission as we strive to provide electricity access to underserved and unserved communities.

FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF PETROLEUM RESOURCES EFFURUN, DELTA STATE
PROGRAMME STATUS |
The induction ceremony for the STEM female students at the Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun, Warri Delta State took place on the 9th of May, 2019. Present at the occasion were the Deputy Vice chancellor Academics, Dean of the School Technology, Miss Roseline Idem, representatives from METKA West Africa ( the site manager and QC officer) , the Resident Engineer FUPRE ( Engr. Adeniyi Olabode Stephen ), members of the school press corps and the STEM female students. The Students were excited to be part of this very noble course towards empowering the female gender especially in the area of science and technology where very few female impact is felt. |
